Our founder, Sue, has the legal responsibility for ensuring the support we provide to you / your loved one is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. She qualified as an SEN 1981 and then an RMN 1997. Since then she has gone on to develop her passion and skill set to provide care for those who need more specialised care and can often be overlooked.
Rebecca Newman-Smith
Managing Director
Since a child Rebecca has been in and around Ashton Care. Founded by her mother in 1986 she has seen what is at the heart of the organisation; a close-knit team that really wants the best for you / your loved one, a team that goes above and beyond to provide proactive, person-centred care.
Rebecca has overall responsibility for providing direction and support to the rest of the team. Making available the resources for new initiatives, training and development opportunities and identifying new ways of working to provide even better care.
Emma Donovan
Trainee Nominated Individual & Registered manager for Abbots Lawn Nursing Home
Emma joined Ashton Care as a teenager, more than twenty years ago. Since then, she has gained a wealth of diverse knowledge and experience. Having worked in all services developing her flexible, person centred, and proactive problem-solving skills Emma later qualified as a Registered Nurse (RMN). Emma will work with Sue to ensure we don’t just meet but exceed the standards set by our regulator.
Emily Barton
Operations Manager
A former Care Assistant and Registered Manager within Ashton Care Emily has vast experience of the challenges and opportunities that service users face. This means she is exceptionally well placed to guide on initiatives and support the organisations approach to continuous quality improvement.
Chloe Isted
Registered Manager for Ashton Manor Care Home
Chloe joined our team in 2015 as a Care Assistant and quickly rose to Deputy Manager at one of our sister homes. She is now registered Manager of Ashton Manor. Chloe has a real dedication to her role and supporting the needs of service users and staff alike. Chloe is always thinking outside the box and will implement new initiatives within her service and share her success with the other managers for their services.
Tracey Scott
Manager (REGISTRATION PENDING) for ABBOTS LAWN NURSING Home
Tracey joined the team in 2024. She brings with her a wealth of experience in the care sector. Having spent over a decade working with a regional care provider she has developed an exceptional and proven ability to support care teams to improve the care and quality of life for individuals. Tracey has built her skillset in the care sector from the ground up and so understands what her team needs to support your loved one to live their life to its fullest.
Rachel Bennett
Trainee Registered Manager for Ashton Domiciliary Care
Rachel has been working at our Domiciliary Care agency since 2011. She has risen through the ranks as Senior Care Assistant, then Deputy Manager and she now feels ready to take on the Registered Manager position. Rachel has a talent for identifying opportunities to grow and improve our support packages. She has a long record of evidencing the skills and determination to lead her team to ensure that the service users receive the best outcomes and achieve their goals.
Amy Harbinson
Deputy Manager for Abbots Lawn Nursing Home
Amy is a compassionate, caring and empathetic Deputy Manager who provides consistent support to the Registered Manager. She is now completing her RNA (Registered Nursing Assistant) qualification and is due to finish this in February 2025. Amy always puts the service users and their desired outcomes at the heart of all she does.
Cassandra Merkel
Office Co-Ordinator for Ashton Domiciliary Care
Cassandra is a very organised and methodical person. She has used these skills to support our domiciliary care agency to implement positive changes for both the service users and the staff. She has an enigmatic passion for helping both clients and staff alike, wanting the best for everyone she engages with.
Malik Ahmed
Head office - Payroll and Finance Administrator
Malik Joined our team in 2023 and has supported Rebecca to streamline our financial procedures and make these more efficient. His skills allow the business to prioritise spending to make sure we reinvest into our care and support packages to provide the best service possible to you or your loved one.
