Ashton Manor is a 22 bedded residential care home in Bognor Regis. It specialises in caring for people with mental health needs from the ages of around 40 years+. Ashton Manor is located in the quiet area of Aldwick, just set back from the beach. The Beach is just a short 5-minute walk. The home is tastefully decorated, and every bedroom is ensuite. We provide a suite of bedroom furniture as standard but encourage all residents to bring anything they wish from home to make their room to their liking and taste.
We have a tailored activities programme to suit the needs of the individuals living here. We also have use of our minibus 2 x weekly which goes on full days out or to places of the residents choosing.
We have a medium sized, tidy garden which residents can use as they wish. We will often have meals outdoors in the better weather and often enjoy a BBQ.
Our facilities are designed to promote both physical health and emotional comfort, providing reassurance for families.

Board games at Ashton Care are more than just entertainment - they’re a way to build relationships, stimulate the mind, and bring laughter into daily life. Whether it’s a classic game or something new, these sessions encourage social interaction, decision-making, and a healthy sense of competition. For many of the people we support, board games are a chance to connect, relax, and rediscover the joy of shared moments.
Flower arranging at Ashton Care offers a peaceful, hands-on way for individuals to connect with nature, express creativity, and take pride in their work. It’s more than just an activity - it encourages mindfulness, fine motor skills, and a sense of achievement. The simple act of choosing, arranging, and enjoying flowers brings beauty into the day and helps people feel engaged, relaxed, and valued.
At Ashton Care, we see daily walks as a vital part of well-being - not just exercise, but a chance to enjoy the outdoors, clear the mind, and connect with the world beyond four walls. Whether it’s a gentle stroll through the garden or a walk to the local park, these moments support physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance. Walks help people feel alive, present, and in touch with their surroundings.
At Ashton Care, we believe that good nutrition is essential for overall well-being. That’s why we provide home-cooked, nutritionally balanced meals tailored to each service user’s dietary needs and preferences.
We also have good relationships with some domiciliary health care providers who can offer support to our service users who cannot or do not want to go out. This is things like:
*Extra charges may apply for these services
We have annual opticians visits at the home. They can carry out eye examinations and make changes to prescriptions. They will also make referrals where appropriate to Ophthalmology.
Where our service users cannot access the community or they would prefer to have dentistry in the comfort of the home we have regular dentist visits from a domiciliary dental provider. This has proved to be very beneficial to some of our service users.
We have a visiting chiropodist every 6 weeks who will keep feet and nails healthy. We can also make referrals to podiatrist for other foot conditions such as diabetes relating conditions.
We have a visiting hairdresser who will come and pamper you or your loved one. At our nursing home we have a Hairdressing salon room.
At Ashton Care, we tailor services to meet individual needs. Care costs vary based on factors, ensuring everyone receives the right support. Key elements influencing fees include:
We encourage you to look at a few different homes and get a feel for them. It is good to see the communal areas and a bedroom, also ask to see the activities schedule, menu, service user guide. You can look for the latest inspection rating for care homes at www.cqc.org.uk and some homes are registered with www.carehome.co.uk where reviews can be left. You could consider a visit for a morning or a mealtime for your loved one and see how they feel.
Absolutely! We encourage feedback both good or bad to enable us to see where we are doing well and where we can improve things for those using our service and their families. There are lots of ways you can do this. Care plans are reviewed monthly and you will be invited to join in any care plan review, especially if your loved one is unable to do this themselves. We hold regular residents and relatives meetings where you can share feedback and see what it going on within the home. As mentioned above we are on www.carehome.co.uk and we would encourage you to leave reviews on there (please see a member of staff for a review form) We also have an open door policy so if you ever need to catch up with staff or leave feedback just telephone or have a chat with them when you are visiting.
There are no visiting times and would like you to feel you can come at any time, you are welcome to go out with your family member or friend whenever you like, just liaise with staff so that considerations can be made for medication and other support that may be needed.
This is highly encouraged, we want everyone to feel settled and like home so please bring anything that will help your loved one feel this way. When it comes to decorating individual’s rooms or the communal areas we also always seek the opinion of those living in the home.
All our staff are encouraged to complete an NVQ level 2 or 3 in health and social care. As a minimum all staff have completed the care certificate and complete annual training in all mandatory topics including, safeguarding, dignity and respect and person-centred care. We also offer further training in nursing associate degrees or clinical practitioner.
We have a number of other services that visit the home. Staff to liaise with any specialist involvement needed for your loved one such as SALT team, OT’s etc. to ensure their needs are met.
There is always an adjustment period when someone enters a care home. It is usual for someone to become slightly withdrawn or anxious whilst they settle into their new living environment and get to know the other residents and staff. Our staff will support you or your loved one to settle in. We use a keyworker programme so each resident has a named member of staff or two and we try to match people based on personality, interests and hobbies. Sometimes it is best to allow your loved one to settle in for a period of time before visiting, other times keeping to your routine is helpful. Staff will support you to navigate the best way for the individual needs of your loved one. It is also something to consider that when visiting your loved one you will be entering the home of other residents with varying needs. Everyone must be treated with dignity and respect. If you have any concerns you should speak with a member of staff. You can always ask questions about you or your loved ones' care. You will be encouraged to participate in care plan and risk assessment writing and reviews as this helps us create care plans that are personalised to your individual needs.
